UK Creates New Space Agency

New national space agency to officially open on April 1
The UK Space Agency will be located at the new multi-million dollar International Space Innovation Centre, and replace the British National Space Centre for the management of all civilian space activities in the UK. The United Kingdom has a strong space and satellite industry cluster, which includes close to 70,000 jobs and has been reported to contribute $9 billion to the economy. In time, they expect to expand the Space Agency to include a space innovation center than focuses on developing technologies for space, climate change monitoring, defense, and broadband communications.
