Nanotech Company Licenses Nanoparticle Technologies from UCLA

NanoPacific Holdings plans to use the technology for various biomedical applicatio

Mr. Hsian-Rong Tseng, PhD, associate professor at UCLA’s Molecular & Medical Pharmacology school, invented the technology. NanoPacific and UCLA are also seeking a joint research agreement to develop further applications for the nanoparticles. NanoPacific was founded in 2007, and has worked with UCLA since its inception. NanoPacific Holdings notes in its press release "The technology enables the synthesis of new-generation nanoparticles with a high degree of size and morphological control, as well as tunable surface charge and chemistry. These properties enable the production of biodegradable nanoparticles that display improved physiological stability, longer blood retention times, low acute toxicity and low immunogenicity."
