University in Northern Ireland Opens Advanced Imaging Center Using FEI Products
Dan Zenka of FEI Speaks to NWN About Its Products and How They Assist Nanoscale Research Worldwide.
The University of Ulster in Northern Ireland recently opened what they have named the FEI Centre for Advanced Imaging. The Center will feature a number of FEI electron microscopes that the University will use for biomedical research, including industrial R&D for its industry partners. Mr. Dan Zenka, Director of Global Public Relations for FEI, tells NWN, “We believe the University of Ulster selected our products based on several factors, including the levels of resolution our tools provide, their ease of use, reliability and flexibility for multi-disciplinary research.”

This is not the first university to look to FEI’s tools for nanoscale research. “FEI tools are being used in academic and research institutions and commercial applications around the world, including Japan, Europe, North America and increasingly in the “BRIC” countries that include Brazil, Russia, India and China,” notes Mr. Zenka.
