The EU Electronics Leaders Group, comprised of 11 CEOs, presented their report to the EU this month.
The EU Electronics Leaders Group includes the CEOs of ARM, Intel, and NXP Semiconductors. To achieve their proposed goal of capturing 60 percent of the semicon market within the next ten years, they propose the creation of centres of excellence to boost skills and production in several areas, including embedded software and chip design. In the release, EC Digital Agenda commissioner Neelie Kroes delivered a bold statement: “We are going to make Europe the place to make and buy innovative micro and nano-electronics.”
