University of Tokyo and Sharp Jointly Establish Laboratories Dedicated to Flexible Electronics Technologies
The University of Tokyo’s Institute for Industrial Science and Sharp Corporation has created the Todai-Sharp Laboratories, a collaborative base for R&D activities for flexible electronics, which are projected to be the next generation in electronics technologies. The management and operation of the Todai-Sharp laboratories will be handled by both the University of Tokyo and Sharp. Full-time researchers recruited from within the university and engineers from Sharp will staff the laboratories. The R&D facility, which will begin its activities this month, represents a five-year agreement between the public university and Sharp.
