FEI Company Installs World’s Most Powerful S/TEM Microscope at The Ohio State University
The FEI Titan 80-300, the world’s highest-resolution, commercial scanning/transmission electron (S/TEM) microscope, has been installed and is being used at The Ohio State University’s Center for Accelerated Maturation of Materials (CAMM). With the sub-Angstrom (atomic scale) imaging, researchers at the university will have the ability to make new discoveries on the structure-property relationships of various materials, thus making new materials development cycles in a shorter amount of time and at reduced costs. The FEI Titan enables larger research and nanotechnology centers to access and afford dedicated aberration corrected TEM technology. The Titan S/TEM was introduced in August 2005, and additional installations of the system will occur in North America and Europe.
