California-Based Nanometrics Warns Q3 Revenues Will Fall Short of Expectations
Nanometrics, Inc., a supplier of advanced integrated and standalone metrology equipment for the semiconductor industry, has announced its fiscal third quarter revenues would drop below initial guidance, from approximately $16 million to $14 million. The company explained this decline was due to units that were undergoing installation during the third quarter had not yet obtained final acceptance, which is a requirement for revenue recognition. The company believes that revenues will be higher in the fourth quarter, but they will hold off on any announcement related to Q4 revenues until the final Q3 results are announced later this month.
