Wireless Sensor Network Use Expected To Grow
According to a recent online study by B&B Electronics and Sensicast Systems, more than half of 200 industrial systems integrators and end-users surveyed are considering deploying a wireless sensor network over the next twelve months. The percentage of firms considering wireless sensor network use is up from a year ago, when it was reported by a similar survey that 45% of these companies were planning to deploy a wireless sensor network. The top reason why survey respondents were delaying deployment was the reliability of wireless sensor networks. The study also found that 2.4 GHz is the preferred frequency of operation. The upcoming NSTI Nanotech 2006 Conference, the world’s largest nanotechnology technical and trade show, will feature a Special Symposium on Sensors and Systems; to learn more about the Symposium and Nanotech 2006, please visit http://www.nsti.org/Nanotech2006/.
