U.K. Company P2i Will Unveil Super Repellent Nano Coatings This November
P2i Limited will launch its range of repellent nano coatings to the global medical device and consumables market at ComPaMed in Dusseldorf in November. P2i has attracted strong interest with its first major application for pipette tips, and now wants to apply this application to plates, filters, and devices. For its pipette tips, P2i uses a proprietary cold plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) process to apply nano-thin coatings that enhance performance, virtually eliminating liquid retention. Use of its pipette tips produce more accurate and reliable results, and reduces sample loss, bringing a wide range of benefits to many pipette applications, from large scale robotic liquid handling systems to handheld pipettes. The patented cold plasma process was originally developed in collaboration between the U.K. Department of Defense and the University of Durham to protect soldiers against chemical attacks by improving uniforms and equipment with superior repellant coatings.
