Swiss Retailers Create Nanotechnology Code of Conduct for Consumer Products
The Swiss Retailer's Organisation (IG DHS) has created and signed what they believe is the world’s first Code of Conduct for consumer products that incorporate nanotechnology. The Code of Conduct was created in collaboration with the Innovation Society, a consulting company based at the Technology Centre of the Federal Institute of Materials Science & Technology (EMPA) in St.Gallen, Switzerland. The Swiss Retailer’s Organisation members include Charles Vögele, Coop, Manor, and Valora. According to the Swiss Retailer’s Organisation, members who signed the agreement are committed to providing full disclosure to consumers and “to the application of the precautionary principle in the face of a lack of specific legal rulings.”
