University Scientists Create World’s Smallest ‘Radio’
Scientists from the University of California (UC) have created a nano-enabled detector that can convert radio waves into sound. UC Professor Peter Burke and graduate research student Chris Rutherglen created the nano-detector using carbon nanotubes, and they believe this is the first time a nano-sized detector has been successfully incorporated into a radio system. The American Chemical Society will publish more details about the team’s research results next month.
