University Team Proves Self-Assembled Nanowires Hold Key to Superior Data Storage and Retrieval

A scientific team from the University of Pennsylvania has created novel nanowires capable of advanced computer data storage and retrieval. The researchers,-led by Dr. Ritesh Agarwal, an assistant professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering-report that their self-assembling nanowire provides superior data storage and can also recover that data 1,000x faster than current portable memory devices. Dr. Agarwal and his team have created these nanowires to be fast, use less power & space, and scalable, all desirable features for a portable memory device.
