Advanced CNTs Could Significantly Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Dr. John Zhu, Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering at the University of Queensland, has developed a new technology that can trap moving gases, thus reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Dr Zhu plans to create a carbon nanotube (CNT) membrane that would be able to separate large amounts of methane or CO2 from other gases. He believes that carbon nanotubes can be designed to trap significant amounts of moving gases faster than other methods, and would be appealing for use by large scale power stations. Long-term project plans are to commercialize the membrane and bring it to the marketplace over the next decade.
