Leading Universities and Companies Join Sandia National Laboratories in Creating National Institute for Nano-Engineering (NINE)

Sandia National Laboratories will serve as the base for NINE, an innovative partnership that will focus on postsecondary student education in the areas of nanoscience and engineering research, including legal, business, political and social issues related to science and engineering. There are also plans to reach out to teachers and students at the K-12 level. The first members to join the NINE Initiative include: Intel Corp., Exxon Mobil Corp., IBM, Lockheed Martin Corp., Corning Inc., Goodyear Tire and Rubber, Proctor and Gamble, University of Wisconsin, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, University of California at Davis, University of Florida, Yale University, Harvard University, University of Texas at Austin, University of Illinois, Rice, Notre Dame, University of New Mexico, and Harvey Mudd College.
