India-based Consortium To Buy Shell/BASF Materials Unit
Royal Dutch Shell/Group and Germany's BASF are about to sell its Basell materials joint venture to an India-based consortium for close to $5 billion. The purchase is being led by Calcutta-based Haldia Petrochemicals. Basell has manufacturing operations on five continents and sells to more than 4,000 customers in more than 120 countries.
