Finland and China Establish Nanotechnology Partnership
The Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation (Tekes) have entered into a joint collaboration with China focused on nanotechnology research and development. The FinNano program, which is funded by Tekes, has more than $90 million US in available funds. Finland is the first country in the EU to establish a formal cooperation agreement with China that is focused on nanotechnology. Tekes has spent several years increasing its presence in China; the organization currently has offices in Beijing and Shanghai, and has R&D agreements already in place with several Chinese provinces.
