Nanotech Company Founded By Richard Smalley To Join Forces With Electronics Firm
This month, Carbon Nanotechnologies, Inc. (CNI) and Unidym announced the merger of their two companies. The merger is expected to be complete by next month, and will operate under the Unidym name. Carbon Nanotechnologies, Inc. was founded by Rice University Nobel laureate Richard Smalley. CNI currently holds more than 100 nanotech patents, and Unidym will now have access to this IP and accelerate development of innovative electronics for the market. Unidym is currently developing CNT-based products for electronics, including televisions and computer screens. Unidym is a majority-owned subsidiary of Arrowhead Research Corporation (NASDAQ: ARWR).
