National Science Foundation Increases 2008 Budget for Nanotechnology Research Investments

The National Science Foundation continues to show its commitment to nanotechnology research, understanding, and advancement. NSF announced that its 2008 budget provides $390 million for nanotechnology research, which includes funding for a new NSF center to address the environmental and safety issues related to nanomaterials. The budget also grants an additional $110 million to a Major Research Instrumentation program for mid-size tools (such as nanofabrication tools and imaging instruments).
