Leading European Research Firm Using Nano To Remove Windshield Fog

The Fraunhofer Technology Development Group TEG announced this month that it is working on a revolutionary way to heat up a windshield without costly copper heating elements. By taking a transparent coat of carbon nano tubes (CNT), Fraunhofer claims when attached to an electricity supply, the CNT lacquer coating is transformed into a wide, flat heater that is able to completely cover the windshield surface. In a few years, the CNT heater is expected to be done, and will be able to clear windshields in a shorter amount of time than standard electric wire heating.
