Australian Company Uses Nanotechnology to Create New Fireproof Technology
Ceram Polymerik have created what they are calling the Ceram Polymerik Ceramifiable® Technology. When this Technology is used in plastic and rubber materials, it transforms them into a hard, self-supporting ceramic composite that provides a barrier to fire. According to the company, its new technology can stay stable at temperatures exceeding 1000° C. Buildings and structures that can be built with this new Technology would offer added safety and help reduce damage to property. The market for flame retardants is predicted to be multi-billion dollar industry within the next 10 years.
