International Group Launches Project to Focus on Nanomanufacturing Safety and Competitiveness
SAPHIR-a European integrated project on nanotechnologies and its safe handling-held its first meeting this month. SAPHIR is comprised of a team of European universities, industries, and research institutions, as well as Canada. SAPHIR will look to define an industry standard use of nanotechnologies including its safety and handling, recycling, and sustain competitiveness in the diverse industries involved in nanoscale research and commercialization, from automotive to materials to electronics. The SAPHIR project will be funded in part by the European Commission.
