FDA Announces Plans For Public Nanotechnology Meeting
This month, the FDA has announced it will convene a meeting this fall to collect information about the latest developments in nanoscale technologies in FDA regulated products. The FDA wants to increase its understanding and awareness about nanotechnology and its impact on products currently being developed, including cosmetics, foods, and medical devices. The federal agency is also looking to see where they can best address issues that may be inhibiting the use of nanotechnology in medical product development. The FDA has created a webpage with more information about its NanoTechnology Interest Group (NTIG) at www.fda.gov/nanotechnology/.
