Annual Symposium Synopsys

Carbon nanotubes are one of the most promising building blocks and materials in nanotechnology. The combination of molecular sized diameter with macroscopic length scale leads to new unusual properties. Progress in large scale synthesis, control of their properties, precise positioning and assembling on semiconductor surfaces, electrical connection to electrodes and incorporation in a solid matrix continues to widen their application range. Recent progress in the understanding of their optical properties gives now the possibility to assign the helicity of an individual tube and test their intrinsic one dimensional electronic property. Improved control of the number of tube walls and size distribution gives the opportunity to reinforce their mechanical stability while maintaining some of their intrinsic properties.

The NSTI is proud to sponsor this special conference and community focused on the technical advancement of carbon nano structures, and their numerous applications into both physical and life sciences. We expect participation in this symposium to be one of the strongest highlights of the Nanotech 2006. We welcome your submission into this symposium, and look forward to seeing you in Boston.

We highly encourage your participation in this community, through your comments, suggestions and offers for assistance in review and organization.
