The California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI)
The California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI), an integrated research facility at UCLA, is one of four Institutes for Science and Innovation established in 2000 by the State of California to drive technology innovation. CNSI’s mission is to advance economic development by fostering interdisciplinary collaborations in nanoscience and nanotechnology; generating translational research partnerships with industry; and training tomorrow’s scientific leaders. The institute’s core laboratories offer academic, industry, and government scientists a wide array of cutting-edge instrumentation and technical expertise unavailable elsewhere in the US. These shared facilities enable research leading to innovations impacting health and medicine, energy, the environment and information technology.
