Synopsis

This symposium will highlight the synthesis, characterization and applications of soft materials that contain nanoparticles: colloids. Colloid science has a tradition stretching back long before we started to call materials containing nanometer to micron sized structure “nano”. Colloids comprise a wide range of products including foods, personal care products and paints.

Topics & Application Areas

  • Colloids in optics & photonics
  • Stimuli-sensitive particles & assemblies
  • Particle stability - understanding & control of stability
  • Nanoparticle-protein interactions
  • Applications in personal care products & foods
  • Other
