Abstract:
we further developed this method for simple and effective control over β-SiC nanowires architectures using metal Mg as reductant and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) as soft template. By simply changing the phen amounts, we demonstrate the controlled formation of branched, parallel, straight, and ultrathin (3-8 nm in diameter) β-SiC nanowires. This method requires a relatively low temperature (650 °C), as compared to the traditional thermal evaporation methods (> 1000 °C).
