Hierarchical Superhydrophobic Surfaces Resist Water Droplet Impact

Abstract:

In this paper we study dynamic wetting interactions of impinging droplets on superhydrophobic surfaces. We show that bio-inspired heirarchical micro-nano surfaces are optimum for droplet impact resistance.
