Abstract:Turning the promises of nanotechnology into real products in an efficient and effective manner requires informed decisions based on a wide range of data, both in terms of quantity and scope. Typically, knowledge is built on the basis of a range of metrology and characterization tools including data in the form of spectra, images and molecular models. The presentation will address challenges in integrating data and applications to help scientists and engineers make more informed decisions. It will also address how to use the same systems to better collaborate and share information across and beyond an organization.Application examples in collaborative research in the areas of fuel cell catalysts discovery and selective adsorption and orientation on patterned substrates will be presented.
