Abstract:
This in situ mercury treatment process concentrates and stabilizes mercury in contaminated waste by passively attracting mercury to treatment rods and converting it to stabilized mercuric sulfide. The insoluble mercury sulfide compounds may be easily and safely extracted to remediate the waste without removing large volumes for treatment.
