Abstract:
Janus particles are asymmetric -- they present different faces. This asymmetry allows the creation of layer-by-layer biomimetic self-assembled structures useful for detecting both biologicals and other substances at the single-molecule level. This high-yield, high-throughput method produces more than 75% dimers with no laborious purification steps.
