Abstract:

Synthesis of water-stable, transparent, anti-fogging and self-cleaning coatings is achieved on glass, metal and polymer substrates. Nanostructured titania and/or silica are deposited from an aerosol source forming highly porous, super-hydrophilic, coatings. The scalability of the aerosol source allows rapid coating of small and large surfaces.
