Abstract:
Common ophthalmoscopes use a cascade of ophthalmic lenses to create human retina images. We use a single aspheric lens that creates a flat aerial image. The flat image is directly captured with an image sensor enabling a significant miniaturization of the ophthalmoscopic device and direct digital output.
