Abstract:
A novel method for preparing a unique high-performance composite anode material with a high reversible electrical capacity that also exhibits very little deterioration after Lithium alloying/dealloying cycling. Hence, this invention circumvents and surpasses the limitations of currently available LIB anode technologies. The material is composed of nanometer-scale lithium-alloying materials homogeneously dispersed in a resilient carbon matrix. This invention has been utilized to create an anode with a reversible capacity of ~450 mAh/g.
