Preparation of Polymer Coatings on Conductive Surfaces Using Electrochemically-Active RAFT Agent

Abstract:

The combination of electro-grafting and RAFT polymerization for preparation of polymer brushes on conducting surfaces was presented. A RAFT agent with an electrochemically-active moiety was prepared and was electro-grafted on gold substrate using either cyclic voltammetry or constant potential methods. The RAFT agent-modified gold substrate was used for surface initiated polymerization of functional monomers.
