Abstract:
We have developed a novel, MEMS based, drug delivery device. The device utilizes MEMS technology for precise control over when drug release will initiate. The current form of the device has a reduced size per payload, better sealing and reduced energy requirements for activation when compared to previous generations. Current and future work will focus on applying and modifying this device for treatment of brain tumors, as well as miniaturizing the device and supporting components.
