Abstract:

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health has developed a thorough nanotechnology research plan that is intednded to identify and address potential implications of human exposure to engineered nanomaterials. The Instituted research strategy follows a well-chracterized risk management model that starts with determining the hazard of a material; evaluating human exposures; characterixzing any poteltial risk based on exposure and hazard; and finally, developing effective controls that eliminate exposure and minimize risk.
