Commercialization of Oxy-Coal Combustion Clean Power Technology

Abstract:

Oxy-Coal Combustion is an advanced clean coal-based power generation technology with carbon capture and storage that will be Near Zero Emissions (NZEP), Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD), will capture and safely store CO2 in a saline formation, and generate clean power for sale. This sustainable technology will utilize our natural resources and support our energy security goals. The unique benefits of oxy-coal combustion allow for near zero emissions of coal combustion products. The emissions of particulate matter, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and mercury will not only be below regulated levels, but all will be within the uncertainty of current EPA measurement methods, essentially zero. This advanced technology will demonstrate all these reduced levels and will lead to commercially available NZEP plants for power generation.
