Nanotechnology Victoria (NanoVic) was formed in 2003 as consortium dedicated to the industrial exploitation of nanotechnology. Members are major Victorian R&D centres: Monash University, RMIT University and Swinburne University. NanoVic also works with a variety of other research providers across Australia.
NanoVic’s bionano includes 18 licenses and 11 patents. NanoVic has harnessed the expertise of its members in materials science, nano-manufacturing, polymer and molecular sciences, modelling and information processing on important products like biosensors and biologically-functional surfaces. Some key projects include: NanoArrays, NanoParticle Diagnostics, nanoscale particles for strength and abrasion resistance, low cost water purification, and transdermal drug delivery mechanism.
