CeNIDE , the Center for Nanointegration Duisburg-Essen, was founded in 2005 by members of the physics, chemistry and engineering departments as a framework for the diverse nano-activities at the Universtät Duisburg-Essen (UDE). CeNIDE is based on the strongly interdisciplinary research excellence in the area of Nanotechnology at UDE. This includes an exceptionally broad knowledge base in fundamental nanoscience, unique fabrication facilities for nanoscale materials in large quantities, and experience in questions of scalability and reliability. The main goal is to promote interdisciplinary education as well as communication and collaboration among the different groups working in nanoscience and technology and industrial partners.
