Supriyo Bandyopadhyay is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Professor of Physics at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, USA, where he directs the Quantum Device Laboratory engaged in research in various aspects of nanotechnology. Prior to joining Virginia Commonwealth University, he had served as a visiting faculty member at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana and as faculty member at University of Notre Dame and University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Prof. Bandyopadhyay has authored and co-authored over 300 research publications and given more than 80 invited talks and colloquia across four continents. He is currently a member of the editorial board of five international journals. He serves as the Chair of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Technical Committees on Spintronics (Nanotechnology Council), and Compound Semiconductor Devices and Circuits (Electron Device Society). He has been an IEEE Electron Device Society Distinguished Lecturer and is also currently a Vice President of the IEEE Nanotechnology Council.
Prof. Bandyopadhyay is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the American Physical Society, the Institute of Physics (UK), the Electrochemical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
