Professor, Department of Polymer Engineering University of Akron
| Prof. Sadhan C. Jana is currently Professor and Chair of The Department of Polymer Engineering at The University of Akron. He received Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering from Northwestern University in 1993, worked at General Electric Corporate Research Center for almost four years, and joined the University of Akron in 1998. He received the prestigious National Science Foundation Faculty Early CAREER Award in 2002. An author of over 80 peer-reviewed articles in journals and conference proceedings and 10 patent applications, Prof. Jana serves on the Board of Directors of Engineering Properties and Structures Division and New Technology Division of Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE), serves as student chapter advisor of Akron Section SPE, and as an organizer of Nanocomposites symposium. His current research focus is on shape memory polymer nanocomposites, polymer nanocomposites by self-assembly approach, and polymeric bipolar plates for fuel cells.
