Even though rising energy costs often dwarf other operational expenses, many commercial and institutional organizations still do not control or even actively manage their energy usage. In this analysis, EnerNOC will demonstrate how leveraging access to real-time metering data, along with the integration of such data with existing building control and energy management systems (BCS/EMS), can facilitate the monitoring-based commissioning of commercial and institutional organizations. Real-time data, in conjunction with BCS/EMS system integration, can provide organizations with a transparent and comprehensive view of their current energy costs, and the drivers behind those costs. This allows them to quickly identify anomalies, increase efficiency, optimize operations, compare and rank energy usage across facilities, and distill energy data into actionable strategies. Ultimately, organizations can capitalize on this transparent energy data to ensure that their buildings continue to operate as efficiently as possible. This process also extends to the monitoring of emissions of carbon and other pollutants, and can help building owners and operators achieve greener buildings.
