Abstract:
The European ‘Multifunctional Integrated Devices’ Network of Excellence is taking piezoelectric technologies into the industrial mainstream. It has successfully created the European Institute of Piezoelectric Materials and Devices with a founding membership of multidisciplinary researchers and industrialists. The Piezo Institute is the European hub of expertise and resources in piezo technologies. It offers education and training, consultancy and research in chemistry and process engineering, solid state physics, materials characterisation, metrology, standards and the manufacture and testing of piezo devices.
