Abstract:
Today’s portable communications devices are becoming more complex with new features being added to extend mobile capabilities. This is causing an “energy crisis” for portable electronics. Motorola is evaluating several alternative energy technologies to address this challenge and advanced materials and nanotechnologies are seen as a key enabler. An additional challenge is the integration of these alternative energy sources and requirements and tradeoffs for various system configurations will be presented.
