Free Energy Surface Reconstruction of alpha-phage DNA

Abstract:
alpha-phage DNA single molecular force curve showed two clear plateaus at 65pN and 150pN, which were considered as the characteristic overstretching of B-S transition and double-stranded DNA melting respectively. By using Jarzynski’s equality, the free energy curve of the DNA stretching process was obtained, which can help in understanding the stability of the DNA during processes such as replication and transcription.
