Abstract:
Innovation in the nano-technology world faces two key information challenges. First challenge is to determine white spaces. For example, for similar carbon nanotube applications, there is a growing need to visualize ‘white spaces’ in patents or technical literature published pertaining to material design, shape, orientation, defects or nano hazards in materials. The second challenge is to systematically track the hundreds of patents or technology papers published in a manner that is user friendly. Dolcera’s technology platform solves the above problems by creating comprehensive technology innovation landscapes. These landscapes are part of a new Web 2.0 innovation platform that consists of a wiki and dashboard technology developed by Dolcera. The Dolcera dashboard covers up-to-the-minute patent literature, scientific literature, products and companies from around the world. It helps researchers cut their way through the clutter created by thousands of patents and scientific papers published every year. It helps them answer the following questions: * What are my competitors doing in my domain? * What are the opportunities available for my company? * What technology white spaces can I exploit? In this poster, Dolcera will show examples of its innovation platform, and its use at companies at the cutting edge of nanotechnology research.
