Abstract:
We calculate the potential of mean force between gold nanocrystals of different sizes capped by alkyl thiol of different legths. A wide range of scenarios can be deduced: (i) Aggregation and precipitation (solution) and/or formation of a superlattice (vacuum); (ii) Aggregation and fusion; (iii) Solvation.
