Matthew Laudon, Ph.D.
Nanotech Technical Program Co-Chair
NSTI Co-Founder and Executive Director
Dr. Matthew Laudon is Co-founder and Executive Director of the Nano
Science and Technology Institute (NSTI) in Cambridge, MA, managing the
NSTI's technology and information consulting services. He obtained a
Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison working in the Wisconsin
Center for Nanotechnology and Synchrotron Radiation Center and has
subsequently worked at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of
Lausanne (EPFL), Motorola jointly at Los Alamos National Laboratories
and numerous Boston area start-ups in micro and nanotechnologies. He has
worked as an engineer, scientist and business developer in
smalltechnologies for the last 13 years with over 30 technical
publications. He is Chair and Co-creator of the Nanotechnology
Conference and Tradeshow (Nanotech).
Bart Romanowicz, Sc.D.
Nanotech Technical Program Co-Chair
NSTI Co-Founder and Executive Director, Technology Development
Dr. Bart Romanowicz is Co-founder of the Nano Science and Technology
Institute and is presently serving as the Executive Director of
Microtechnologies for the Nano Science and Technology Institute in
Cambridge, MA. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. from the Swiss Federal
Institute of Technology of Lausanne, working in the Microsystems
Institute. Dr. Romanowicz was a visiting scientist at the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology in the Microsystems Technology Laboratories,
after which, he joined the Microsystems firm Coventor working in MEMS
design and consulting services as well as partner relationships. From
2000, he was MEMS team lead with the Boston based Axiowave Networks,
Inc. From 2002 to 2004, he was with CFD Research Corporation. Dr.
Romanowicz has over 30 technical publications primarily in microsystem
design, is the author of Methodology for the Modeling and Simulation of
Microsystems, Kluwer (1998), is the co-founder of the Nanotech
International Conference and Trade Show and is Managing Editor or Editor
in Chief of two journals and two annuals in micro and nano technologies.
Sarah Wenning
Operations Manager
NSTI Co-Founder
Ms. Wenning is Co-founder of the Nano Science and Technology Institute
and has served as Operations Manager for all NSTI events since 1997. Ms.
Wenning is currently the Operations Department Head with the Department
of Energy's Joint Genome Institute and executive staff member with the
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's Biology & Biotechnology
Research Program.
Michael Doyle
Marketing Director
Mr. Dolye is a senior business manager with 23 years of experience in
launching print and online publications and communities as well as
tradeshows and conferences in the high tech field. With several years
of work with associations and for-profit businesses, Mr. Doyle has
served as Vice President and General Manager of the IT Group for
365media, Director of Business Development and Publisher for Interex,
Executive Publisher at Cahners Publishing Company, Director of the
Solution Provider Institute and held various other publishing, trade
show management and business development and sales management positions.
Doyle has research, developed, launched and managed the following
businesses: xSP World, Reseller Management magazine, Datamation
magazine, Scientific Computing & Instrumentation magazine and
datamation.com, HP World, ERP News, Scientific Computing Conference
& Expo, ASP Channel Conference, ERP World and Industrial Data
Acquisition & Control. His career had him developing business
relationships with such major vendors as: Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft,
Perkin-Elmer, Baan, IBM, Beckman Instruments and Sun Microsystems
resulting in contracts for custom publishing, web portal creation,
advertising and event launches.
