The Commonwealth Science and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) is Australia’s largest national research organisation and is one of the world’s largest and most diverse research organisations. It has formidable nanotechnology capabilities covering a range of sectors and applications from materials and manufacturing, food and agriculture to energy and the environment.
CSIRO explores the physics and chemistry of the nanoscale, develops and builds novel structures, materials and devices, self-assembled systems, biomimetic materials, nanoparticle films, biosensors and molecular electronics. Its interests lie in new, composite materials that improve the performance of manufactured products, introducing new qualities such as lightness, corrosion resistance with protective characteristics, fire and enhanced spectral response including UV resistance and adhesive properties.
