Director, Freescale Semiconductors Crolles Research Center, France
| Dr. Andreas Wild is in charge of the research and development laboratories of Freescale Semiconductor in EMEA. One of the pioneers of the Crolles2 Alliance, the cooperative research and development program with STMicroelectronics and NXP, he is a Director of the Freescale entity established in Crolles, France, and a co-director of the Advanced Technology function in Crolles on behalf of the Alliance partners. He received a Ph.D. from the Institute of Atomic Physics in Bucharest, Romania, starting his career in Bucharest, in integrated circuits technology and design, while teaching as an associate professor at the “Politehnica” University Bucharest, from which he has his MS title. He joined Motorola semiconductors - now an independent company as Freescale Semiconductor - in Munich, Germany, occupying different positions, becoming the European engineering manager for the Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) business. He joined the central research and development organization in U.S.A. working on advanced custom technologies, prior to becoming the Chief Technologist of the semiconductor sector. He was appointed Chief Scientist and Director of Engineering for Latin America, being in charge of establishing new technical centers in Brazil, Chile and Mexico, prior to returning to Europe in his current function. Fluent in five languages, Dr. Andreas Wild authored 22 patents and more than 50 technical papers.
